Terms of Service
Effective date: Sat, Feb 21, 2026
Startup Archive ("Startup Archive", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website and related services (the "Service").
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Definitions

The Startup Archive website and related products and services.Submission
A URL you provide to the Service for capture.Capture
A rendering of a submitted URL in an automated browser and a viewport screenshot and related metadata created by the Service.Archive / Project
A stored result of a Capture, which may be viewable by you and potentially by others depending on the visibility settings.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract with us to use the Service.
Your responsibilities
- Authorization. You represent and warrant that you own or control the content you submit, or you have all rights and permissions necessary to submit the URL and to allow us to capture, store, and display the resulting archive.
- No sensitive data. You are responsible for ensuring you do not submit URLs that expose secrets, credentials, personal data, or other sensitive information unless you have a lawful basis to do so and intend for it to be captured.
- Local apps and tunnels. If you submit a URL that points to a local or private app made public via a tunnel or reverse proxy, you are responsible for ensuring it is intended to be publicly accessible and archivable.
- Accurate information. You agree not to misrepresent your identity or your authorization to submit a URL.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit URLs you are not authorized to access or archive.
- Use the Service to capture or distribute content that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
- Submit, archive, or distribute illegal content.
- Submit, archive, or distribute sexual content.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by submitting URLs designed to exploit or attack our systems.
How the Service works
The Service loads the URL you submit in an automated browser environment and captures the browser viewport. The resulting archive may include the visible content rendered at capture time and associated metadata.
You acknowledge that captures may be incomplete or inaccurate and may differ from what you see in your own browser due to device differences, personalization, geolocation, authentication state, dynamic content, or other factors.
Visibility and sharing
Projects are public by default and may be visible to anyone, including through the /explore page and other browsing or discovery surfaces.
If you choose Unlisted, the project will not appear on /explore or other public listings, but it may still be accessible to anyone who has the direct link.
Content and licenses
You retain any rights you have in your content. You grant Startup Archive a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display the submitted URL and resulting captures as necessary to operate, improve, and provide the Service, including making them available according to the selected visibility settings.
Takedowns and disputes
If you believe a project on the Service should be removed (for example, because it includes sensitive information or you are the rights holder), contact us at contact@startuparchive.io with the URL of the project and details of the request.
Third-party services and content
The Service may interact with third-party websites you submit and third-party services we use to operate the Service (such as hosting, analytics, and payment providers). Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms and policies.
Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that any capture will be available, accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Startup Archive will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Enforcement and takedowns
We may remove or restrict access to any project or content (including making it unlisted or inaccessible) and may suspend or terminate accounts at any time if we reasonably believe content or conduct violates these Terms, is illegal, or may harm the Service, users, or third parties.
We do not permit illegal or sexual content. Such content may be removed as soon as it is detected, either automatically or through manual review.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we need to do so to protect the Service, users, or third parties.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version on this page. Changes are effective when posted.
